Langston Centre
The Langston Centre is a premier multicultural facility that sits on the historic site of Langston High School, which served as Johnson City’s segregated school for African American students from 1893 to 1965. Opened in its current form in 2019, the center is managed by the Johnson City Parks and Recreation Department. It operates under a three-fold mission: Respect the Past, Recognize the Present, and Realize the Future. It serves as a community hub for leadership, arts, and educational programming designed to bridge cultural gaps in the region.
