  • Connect Downtown Johnson City is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and accredited Main Street program working to support a vibrant and thriving downtown. Our Board of Directors plays an important role in that work.

    Share your experience, ideas and knowledge to help inform decisions and identify new opportunities for downtown.

  • You don’t have to own a downtown business to care about downtown.

    A strong board brings together people with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.

    We welcome applicants who are passionate about Downtown Johnson City and interested in contributing their time and talents to the organization. Experience in areas such as small business, finance, marketing, events, development, hospitality, arts and culture, nonprofit work or community engagement can be valuable, but there isn’t one specific background we’re looking for.

    More than anything, we’re looking for people who are ready to participate, bring ideas to the table and help support the continued success of downtown.

    • Board meetings are held monthly.

    • Members are expected to regularly attend and participate in meetings.

    • Board members may serve on committees or assist with specific initiatives.

    • Members are encouraged to attend and support Connect Downtown Johnson City programs and events.

    • Board members serve as advocates for the organization and Downtown Johnson City.

  • Your experience can help move downtown forward.

    Serving on the Connect Downtown Johnson City Board is an opportunity to have a direct role in the work happening downtown.

    Board members help guide the organization while supporting efforts that strengthen our downtown business community, improve the downtown experience and create opportunities for people to connect with Downtown Johnson City.

    It’s also a chance to work alongside other people who care about downtown and want to see it continue to grow.
